CLIMBING SITES IN BAŠKA

In the very south of the island lies Baška, a true paradise for outdoor lovers attracting thousands of climbers from all over Europe every year.

Baška currently offers five climbing sites located up to a ten-minute ride away from the town centre.

Each site boasts a different type of limestone, which makes them even more attractive. A visit to Baška will be a truly rewarding experience both for experienced climbers and beginners. The number of climbing routes and sites has been increasing year after year and has reached as many as 178 sports routes and 5 long ones, which is unique in the county. All climbing sites and access roads are regularly maintained, thus keeping Baška among the most attractive climbing destinations.

BAG

The Bag climbing site guards the entire Baška Bay. There you can take the most stunning climbing photos on the island. White rocks with tiny sharp scales make this climbing site special. There may be fewer climbing routes to choose from, but it is definitely worth visiting and enjoying the view. We also recommend you to walk the circular hiking trail that will take you to a mrgar on Ljubimer.

BELOVE STENE

Belove stene is a climbing site where you can climb any time of the day, all year long, in various weather conditions. It is important to note that it features a number of climbing sectors, each with different rocks requiring different climbing techniques. This is why it is ideal for both beginners and experienced climbers.

Difficulty level: 4a - 6c

The longest route: 36 m

PORTAFORTUNA

Portafortuna boasts the greatest number of routes and is the most visited climbing site on the island of Krk. Whether you prefer friction/slab climbing or overhang climbs, you will be thrilled with this climbing site. As it offers full equipment, well thought out routes and a comfortable feel, no wonder climbers often set their personal records here.
